Latin American Congress on Social and Environmental Health.

1st LATIN AMERICAN CONGRESS
SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ROSARIO, 28, 29 AND 30 APRIL 2011
School of Cs. UNR Medical

Basics:
In the context of civilizational crisis we are living as humanity, is of utmost importance to recover a holistic view of nature and, within it, the species and their individual representatives, as Without it, understand the true complexity of the processes of health and human disease is an impossible task. Health Matters
From Socioambiental Cs School of Medicine of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, We have been working since 2004, understanding health as exercise to fight for a dignified life, strengthening diversity and deconstructing the hegemony, as well as individual welfare, collective interest and essential to live free, we understand that, in effect, substantial freedom is diminished when the disease prevails. Health
think, as a historical construction, social, cultural, intrinsically linked to environmental issues.
The relationship between political decisions about social and environmental issue, its determinations in the People's Health and the consequences of this on the sovereignty of a nation must be addressed in popular and scientific framework that allows together the regional and sectoral struggles of those who are affected daily by this model of societal organization and production processes that is imposed under the theme of "growth-development progress "with which they are carrying out the transfer of polluting production model to our Latin America. Concentrations

Urban Pesticides, GMOs, mining, pulp mills, dams, nuclear plants, Chemicals, health and legal system incapable of responding, all elements that determine our everyday computer morbidity profiles of the communities we belong.
Across our continent experiences that respond to the transfer of production models that sicken and kill to our land. Hence the need to bring together actors from Latin America, to add knowledge and multiply forces.

The existence of scientific evidence to link the production models with the health-disease processes of the communities, is becoming stronger.

Nevertheless, social movements active in the field of environmental protection and health, often find themselves alone in their struggles to not be supported or academia, or health, or legal. We have created

1st Latin American Congress on Social and Environmental Health, building bridges that allow us to find, recognize, learning ...
held simultaneously to the 2nd Meeting of Peoples Medical fumigated in Argentina, with the idea of \u200b\u200bcontinuing what was started in Cordoba in August 2010, in a wider context that enriches learning.

The 1st Latin American Congress on Social and Environmental Health, is aimed at workers in the health field, students, neighbors who feel the need to continue sharing, through diversity, to strengthen our practical knowledge in health advocacy and life in all Latin American territories.
